The Boy In the Striped Pajamas (Movie Tie-in Edition) (Random House Movie Tie-In Books)

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas - John Boyne This is one of the few books I really loathe. I know that this is fiction ,but the plot was just too implausible and historically inaccurate. Firstly, there is just no way that a 9-year old German child in the 1940s would not know what a jew is or who Hitler is! Nazi propaganda was ubiquitous at that time and children were indoctrinated from a very young age.Secondly,it would not have been possible for Bruno to talk to Shumel at the fence for a year. I doubt that there were places where no guards were present.Thirdly,I, as a native German speaker, was really bothered by the ridiculous pun "The Fury" and the fact that Bruno did not understand "Heil Hitler", which is not believable. It would only be if he was mentally disabled. This impression is basically backed by everything he does.I could continue this list ,but I do not want to invist more time on this awful book.I would only recommend this book for people, who want to get enraged.
